For the fifth straight year Liberty Bank, the Liberty Bank Foundation, and 48 Rotary clubs partnered to raise money to not only provide money for Thanksgiving food but to stock our local food banks for the coming months. The Liberty Bank Foundation donated 25 cents for every dollar collected. The Derby-Shelton Rotary Club raised funds for its towns of Derby and Shelton. The total this year was a record and couldn’t have come at a better time with all the challenges presented by the pandemic. The club’s total was $14,478 and it was divided evenly between Spooner House in Shelton and St Vincent DePaul in Derby. Checks were delivered by President Judy Gulish and Past President Tom Wilson to Susan Agamy, Executive Director of Spooner House, and to Remy Kocurek, Director of St Vincent de Paul of the Valley Thrift Shop and Food Bank.
Derby-Shelton Rotary would especially like to thank the trustees of the Friend A. Russ Fund for their generous contribution to the Liberty Bank Thanksgiving Food Drive.
