Following the weekly meeting on December 8, several Rotarians began the annual Sand for Seniors project by loading buckets of sand to be delivered to needy seniors in the two communities to help them deal with snow and ice on their sidewalks this winter. Years ago, towns put large drums of sand on many street corners for resident use. Those days are long gone, so the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club has stepped in to help meet the needs of seniors who lack access or funds for a convenient supply.
Thank you to the following Rotarians who participated: Kim Ryan Caro (who coordinated the project), Drew Scott, Brendan Carey, Jeff Forte, Angel Irigoyen, Doug Lamonte, Steve Balog, Chris clouet, Julie Blackman, George Howe, John Daniell, Gary Sochrin, Tom Wilson, Shawna Vallilo, Mike Wynne and Veronica Parsloe.
