Derby-Shelton Rotarians celebrated their 2024 Norman K. Parsells Award winner, Dr. Jeff Forte, along with winners from eight other Rotary Clubs on April 5 at the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield. The award honors the memory of Mr. Parsells who was a distinguished member of the Fairfield Rotary Club who passed away in 1986. Recognizing that Parsells life epitomized a basic tenet of Rotary, Service Above Self, they started to honor Rotarians who fit the model. Eventually the idea was expanded to include the nine clubs participating today. Derby-Shelton started participating in 2009.
Jeff is a 36-year member of the Derby-Shelton Club involved in just about every activity or event run by the Club. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and served a long tenure as secretary for the Club.
