Rotary Announces Student of the Month Winners for October

Tony Krugel Dean Ebdon

Each month during the scholastic year, the Club honors one student from Derby High School and another from Shelton High School. At the end of the year one student from each school is selected as the Student of the Year for that school.

For the month of October, Tony Krugel of Derby High School and Dean Ebdon of Shelton High have been selected as winners.

Tony’s class rank is 3rd, and he is involved with the Interact, the varsity soccer team, recreational soccer (11years), the ski club, the National Honor Society, and the Spanish National Honor Society.

Tony plans on studying pre-medicine and is looking at Assumption College, Clark University, the University of Hartford, and Stonehill College.


Dean is an
honor roll student at Shelton High School where he is a member of the Interact Club, the wrestling team where he has been on the varsity for 2 years,  the Spanish Club and the Marching and Concert bands where he plays drums. Dean is also active with Sea Scouts Ship 101, the St. Lawrence C.C.D. where he is a 5th grade teacher and the Youth groups at St. Lawrence and St. Nicholas. He is also a Sailing Instructor at Camp Quinipet, a Counselor at Summer Stars in New Cannan and the CCYM- Youth leadership Program.
